Frequently Asked Questions

There can be many questions regarding coming to counselling and even picking up the phone can be a huge step. If there are any questions you have please do not hesitate to make contact either by phone or by email and we can talk them through.

Common questions:

Q1. How long are the sessions?
A1. Individual sessions are 50 minutes long. Couples sessions are 1 hour long.  The first couples session is often 1.5 hours (this can depend on what is discussed pre: session).

Q2. How often are the sessions?
A2. Sessions usually occur weekly or fortnightly.  Sometimes more frequent or less frequent sessions are more appropriate. This will be discussed at your first session when we will talk through why you have come to counselling and talk through a plan together.

Q3. What is the cost of each session?
A3. Individual session cost is $100 per session.  Couples session cost is $140 per session.

Q4. How can payments be done?
A4. Payment is usually made at the end of the session. Some people prefer to pay via online banking and we can email an invoice with payment details.  Online payment is due on the day of session.

Q5. How many sessions will I need ?
A5. This is a common question and the answer varies widely for each person. Whilst some people will get the clarity that they need after only a few sessions, many people will have ongoing therapy that continues for as long as needed. This is discussed at your sessions. Often people present with certain issues and this can lead to uncovering other aspects they may wish to work on.  It is about you getting to a place where you feel satisfied with where you are at.
